Biography

Andrea has more than 20 years of experience managing environment and sustainability issues in the public, private, investment and non-government sectors in Canada and the U.S.

Prior to Ivey, Andrea was the Vice-President of the Corporate Program at Ceres, where she led Ceres’ work with more than 80 companies on sustainability issues including climate, energy, water, and supply chains. She was the lead author of The 21st Century Corporation: The Ceres Roadmap for Sustainability and corporate benchmarking reports based on this framework. She is a skilled facilitator of action-oriented initiatives and collaborations between the private sector, government and non-for-profit organizations.

Andrea is a sought-after speaker and contributor at conferences and events in Canada and a regular contributor to a wide range of publications. She serves on the boards of the International Institute of Sustainable Development (IISD) and the Environment Founders Canada (EFC) and is on the advisory board of the Institute for Sustainable Finance (ISF), Smith School of Business Queens University.

Andrea has a Master of Environmental Studies degree from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Arts Honors degree in sociology/psychology from Queen’s University, Canada. She completed the High Potential Leaders executive education course at the Harvard Business School, and the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), Boardroom Financial Essentials course.
